HETHERSETT HAWKS / MYHILL DECORATORS staged their Presentation Evening at Hethersett Social Club which was attended by almost a full squad of members and families who heard about a successful season. The highlights were international performances in Euro Club Championships and racing in the Euro Individuals in Poland, reaching the British Open Club Final and being runners-up in the Division Two League Cup.
After celebrating the Club Championship winners and six Norfolk Champions Owen Wells was acknowledged for his part in the Region’s success in the Battle of Britain Junior series displaying the winning team’s trophy.
It was then time for the Club awards – Top Scorer – Leigh Cossey; Best Newcomerer – Charlie Lyth; Most Improved Junior – Paul Delaiche and Club Member of the Year – Jenny Melvin; Team Managers then stepped up to present their Riders of the Season – these went to Liam Webster (First Team) and David Adams (Second Team). The Club’s Coach presented his award to Owen Wells and a special award to Supporter of the Year to the very young Isaac Webster who had the biggest smile of the evening.
During the evening members were asked to vote for the prestigious Sports Person of the Year and a very popular winner was Liam Webster. The Club made a special presentation to Caroline Collins who had been with the Club 17 years and was standing down as refreshment co-ordinator. Nick Myhill was called upon to make the presentation – his last role as sponsor of the Club for the last three years. In appreciation of his support he was presented with a bottle of his favourite tipple.
The Club have a bowling evening on December 11th and will have representatives in the British indoor Championships in the Midlands on January 5th / 6th.
