SE League 2 and Youth – Hethersett v Gt Blakenham

HETHERSETT HAWKS / YELLOW BRICK MORTGAGES had another successful weekend of racing with the return of League racing after a two-month break. The Hawks maintained their unbeaten home record in both South-East Leagues – Division 2 and Youth Division. Great Blakenham were the visitors and they have been struggling at these levels this season so the Hawks duly had comfortable wins.  Jason Ashford battled well for Blakenham B but even he could not prevent Mason Martin and Dave Martin remaining unbeaten. However, the highlight was an amazing debut for Michael Gunn, a parent of a new recruit who could not resist having a go at training and then was encouraged to make the team only to have just one defeat in five rides.  Aiesha Musa also impressed after bike problems in her opening ride.

Gt.Blakenham only had three riders available for the Youth Division match so Hethersett riders Lola Martin, Nyla El-Labany and Alfie Gunn kindly agreed to race for them and an entertaining match ensued.  Arlo Davies made his team debut while Aiesha Musa and Luca El-Labany were unbeaten, the latter doing some good team-riding.  Amelia Dodson also had one of her best matches.
